A STUDY ON STUDENT PERCEPTION TOWARDS INNOVATIVE TEACHING METHODS IN COIMBATORE CITY

Education today is changing rapidly due to technological growth, evolving student expectations, and the increasing need for practical skills. This study focuses on how students in Coimbatore City perceive innovative teaching methods used in their institutions. It examines approaches such as experiential learning, flipped classrooms, and the use of digital tools, and analyses their impact on student engagement and learning outcomes. Data were collected from 120 students and analysed using Chi-square and correlation techniques. The results show that family income influences students’ expectations for collaborative learning, while the type of institution does not significantly affect awareness of innovative teaching methods. Overall, the findings suggest that student-centred and technology-supported teaching practices can improve participation, understanding, and skill development.
