Scoring alignment with the American Cancer Society guidelines for cancer prevention and cancer survivors
This commentary outlines the standardized scoring systems developed to operationalize the 2020 American Cancer Society (ACS) Guideline for Diet and Physical Activity for Cancer Prevention and the 2022 ACS Guideline for Nutrition and Physical Activity for Cancer Survivors. The ACS Guideline Scores examine body mass index, physical activity, diet, and alcohol intake, both individually and collectively, across various data and survey collection sources to support research examining how guideline alignment may affect the risk for cancer, mortality, and other related health outcomes.
