Reactive Infectious Mucocutaneous Eruption ( <scp>RIME</scp> ): An Australian Case Series
Whilst Reactive Infectious Mucocutaneous Eruption (RIME) displays a low mortality rate, the condition results in significant morbidity and resource allocation, including prolonged hospital admission. As such, early diagnosis and optimisation of treatment is imperative. A retrospective review of paediatric patients in South Australia suffering with RIME across 2023 and 2024 was conducted, analysing trends in aetiology, diagnosis, management and long-term outcomes. Our findings emphasise the need for early input from a specialist paediatric dermatologist and highlight the need for vigilance during times of Mycoplasma pneumoniae outbreak.
