Modular Access to Boron Tripyrrolic Complexes from a Sequential Buchwald–Hartwig Amination/Boron Complexation Reaction
We report a modular synthesis of novel boron tripyrrolic analogs, BOTPY, via a sequential Buchwald-Hartwig amination/boron complexation reaction from readily accessible α,α-dibromodipyrromethenes. This approach provides facile access to structurally enriched B-, <i>meso</i>-, and α-positional functionalized fluorophores, possessing tunable absorption and fluorescence (ΦF up to 0.36) in the visible to NIR region as well as applicability for lipid droplet imaging.
