Analysis of Staff Perception Regarding Managerial Competencies in the Public Healthcare System

This study explores staff perceptions of managerial competencies and their impact on professional satisfaction at the “Sf. Apostol Andrei” County Emergency Clinical Hospital in Constanța, Romania. A structured questionnaire was administered to medical and non-medical staff, assessing four key managerial competencies: leadership, communication, support provided to staff, and decisionmaking. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS to examine the influence of these competencies on overall professional satisfaction. The results indicate that leadership and communication are the most significant predictors of satisfaction, while support and decisionmaking were not statistically significant. The findings emphasize the importance of effective leadership and clear communication in promoting staff motivation, engagement, and a positive organizational climate. Limitations include the single-hospital setting, self-reported data, and cross-sectional design.
