Artificial Intelligence as the Engine of Modern Management: From Decision-Making Efficiency to Organizational Performance

Rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI) are significantly changing management practices and the ways in which organizations achieve their performance goals in the era of digitalization. This research examines the connection between the use of AI and four essential components of management: decision-making efficiency, organizational performance, degree of digitalization, and managerial skills. Based on a sample of 193 managers from Romanian organizations, four hypotheses were tested using the Pearson correlation coefficient, linear regression, and the t-test for independent samples. The findings indicate that AI significantly contributes to increasing managerial efficiency, has a positive impact on organizational performance and is favored by the level of digitalization of internal processes. Also, managers with advanced digital skills are more likely to adopt and integrate AI-based tools into their professional work. The study provides a current perspective on the role of AI in contemporary management and proposes practical directions for organizations undergoing digital transformation.

Abstract

Rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI) are significantly changing management practices and the ways in which organizations achieve their performance goals in the era of digitalization. This research examines the connection between the use of AI and four essential components of management: decision-making efficiency, organizational performance, degree of digitalization, and managerial skills.
