Life Satisfaction in European Countries: A Comparative Perspective on Financial Situation, Time Use and Personal Relationships

This study addresses life satisfaction in European countries as an essential dimension of quality of life, relevant for understanding differences in well-being that cannot be captured exclusively by traditional economic indicators. The objective of the research is to examine how financial situation, time use and personal relationships contribute to differences between European countries and to identify distinct typologies of life satisfaction. The analysis is based on Eurostat data for 2024, related to a number of 31 countries, and uses descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis and cluster analysis. The results highlight the multidimensional nature of life satisfaction, the differentiating role of the financial and organizational dimensions, as well as the stability of the relational component at the European level. The novelty of the study lies in the use of a recent data set and in the integrated factorial–cluster approach, which allows the identification of well-being profiles beyond exclusively economic explanations.
