Effectively mitigating the impact of Meloidogyne incognita on common beans through the strategic use of soil amendments

Using completely randomized pot trials, soil amendments such as poultry droppings, cabbage, and carrot composts were effective in mitigating the impact of Meloidogyne incognita. All treated plots, except mocap, produced taller plants compared to the uninfected control at 70 DAS. Poultry 100% and poultry 50% plots had significantly more leaves. Trial 1 produced higher pod weights in poultry 100%, cabbage 100%, and carrot 100% compared to the control, with cabbage 100% and carrot 100% yielding the most. Trial 2 provided higher pod weights in cabbage 100%, carrot 100%, and poultry 100% in decreasing order of magnitude. The treatment given to the organic matter showed that the botanicals may not be directly nematicidal.

The treatment given to the organic matter showed that the botanicals may not be directly nematicidal.
