A roadmap for research data management at a German University Medicine
This talk is an event of the LoveDataWeek 2026. University hospitals are at the crossroads of patient care, translational research, and large‑scale biomedical innovation. This unique setting creates data challenges that go far beyond those of a typical university department. In other terms University hospitals therefore also face a uniquely demanding RDM landscape. In this lecture we provide the specific use case from the University Medicine Magdeburg of how a road map for such RDM might look like. This includes secure infrastructures, FAIR‑compatible workflows, building up information channels as well as establishing a self-hosted AI platform that supports the processing of sensitive data. Attendees will gain a vision of what steps are important to manage complex medical research data effectively.
