Isolated Trevor's disease of the temporomandibular joint: A case report
Trevor’s disease, or dysplasia epiphysealis hemimelica (DEH), is a rare developmental disorder characterized by asymmetric epiphyseal cartilage overgrowth. We report a 17-year-old male with progressive facial asymmetry and malocclusion caused by DEH of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Imaging showed intra-articular and juxta-articular heterotopic ossification foci within the TMJ, and arthroplasty with histopathology confirmed the diagnosis. We review the literature on craniofacial DEH and discuss diagnostic approaches.
