BYD blade battery for sustainable mobility: review of technical, economic, and environmental aspects

This novel study aims to evaluate the BYD blade battery, positioning it as a transformative solution to key limitations in current electric vehicle (EV) battery technologies, namely, safety, lifespan, cost, and environmental impact. The role of EVs in the transition to sustainable transportation is crucial, as demand for efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly battery technologies increases. However, challenges such as limited battery lifespan, high production costs, and environmental concerns persist as significant barriers to EV adoption. Therefore, this review focuses on the advanced features of blade batteries, including enhanced safety, superior energy density, and extended lifespan, and examines their role in improving EV performance and adoption rates. The economic analysis highlights its cost-effectiveness, long-term financial savings, and reduced production and maintenance expenses compared with conventional batteries. Furthermore, the study evaluates its environmental impact, showing significant reductions in carbon emissions and its contribution to sustainable transportation goals. The findings provide actionable insights into the advantages of the BYD Blade Battery, offering a roadmap for future research and development in EV battery technology and policy frameworks to enhance adoption and sustainability.
