Features of Launching the Propulsive Energy Airfoils and the Occurrence of Hysteresis

The problem of launching and entering the operating mode of a propulsive Glauert aerodynamic profile, in which the thrust is generated by taking air from its surface, is considered. Propulsive airfoils are elements of the airframe system that use energetic aerodynamic methods to increase the lift. The presence of a hysteresis effect has been established, which consists in the dependence of the lifting force value on a change in the same intake air flow rate—an increase or decrease. It is shown that the optimal start-up algorithm is a mode in which a high intake air flow is initially set, followed by a gradual decrease.

Abstract

The problem of launching and entering the operating mode of a propulsive Glauert aerodynamic profile, in which the thrust is generated by taking air from its surface, is considered. Propulsive airfoils are elements of the airframe system that use energetic aerodynamic methods to increase the lift. The presence of a hysteresis effect has been established, which consists in the dependence of the lifting force value on a change in the same intake air flow rate—an increase or decrease. It is shown that the optimal start-up algorithm is a mode in which a high intake air flow is initially set, followed by a gradual decrease.
