The Role of Psycho-Pedagogical Competence of Teachers in the Formation of Person-Centered Learning in Central Asia

The aim of this study was to assess the impact of teachers’ psychological and pedagogical capacities in shaping the personalized learning process of students in Central Asia. The research methodology included the application of four models—namely Bloom’s taxonomy, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) methodology, and attachment theory in psychology—to determine the role of psychological and pedagogical competence of teachers in the formation of personality-oriented learning at universities such as Issyk-Kul State University named after K. Tynystanov, Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabaev, and Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn. The results of the study show that the psychological and pedagogical competence of teachers significantly affects the effectiveness of the educational process. It has been found that teachers with a high level of psychological and pedagogical training are able to better adapt teaching materials to the needs of students, which in turn increases their motivation to learn. The study also showed that person-centered learning (PCL) is implemented through the development of trusting relationships between teachers and students, which has a positive impact on the success of the learning process. The majority of teachers acknowledged that improving their psychological and pedagogical competence contributes to a better understanding of students’ needs and more effective teaching. The findings emphasize the need for the professional development of teachers in this area, which can significantly improve the quality of education in the region.
