Fault‐Tolerant Control of Electric Vehicles With Multichannel Quantization and Actuator Faults
ABSTRACT This paper investigates the fault‐tolerant control problem of active front steering (AFS) for in‐vehicle network systems under the combined influences of actuator faults and dynamic quantization. Takagi–Sugeno (T–S) fuzzy modeling approach is used to solve nonlinear parameters, and considering multichannel dynamic quantization and actuator faults, the fuzzy observer and fault‐tolerant controller are designed. Then, based on the fuzzy Lyapunov function and linear matrix inequality (LMI), one‐step design conditions for the dynamic quantizers, fuzzy observer, and fault‐tolerant controller are given, so that the two outputs of the system, namely the electric vehicle (EV) yaw rate and sideslip angle, satisfy – and performance, respectively. Finally, to verify the feasibility of the proposed design, a co‐simulation of Carsim and Matlab/Simulink is presented.
