Comment on ‘Risk of inflammatory dermatoses following COVID-19 infection: a cohort study of 204 241 patients’

We critically appraise a large cohort study examining the risk of inflammatory dermatoses following COVID-19 infection. We contextualize reported associations by integrating absolute risk considerations, immunological specificity across dermatoses and the potential modulatory role of vaccination. We aim to refine clinical interpretation and guide future mechanistic and translational research.

Abstract

We critically appraise a large cohort study examining the risk of inflammatory dermatoses following COVID-19 infection. We contextualize reported associations by integrating absolute risk considerations, immunological specificity across dermatoses and the potential modulatory role of vaccination. We aim to refine clinical interpretation and guide future mechanistic and translational research.
