On the Manifest Naivete of Techno‐Optimists: A Review of More Everything Forever by Adam Becker
ABSTRACT Adam Becker's More Everything Forever offers a pointed critique of modern techno‐optimism—the belief that innovation alone can resolve humanity's most pressing problems. Becker dismantles myths promoted by tech evangelists, interrogates the dubious moral foundations of their ideologies, and highlights the hubris inherent in visions of limitless growth. In this review, I assess his central arguments and situate them within broader debates about social progress, the limits of technological control, and the challenges of modulating complex biological systems.
