20. The intervention effect of ai-driven personalized digital intelligent sports program on adolescent anxiety

Abstract Background Adolescent anxiety refers to the persistent state of tension and worry that occurs in individuals aged 12 to 18 under academic, interpersonal and self-identity pressure. In recent years, anxiety problems among adolescents have increased significantly and have become a major risk factor affecting adolescent mental health. The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology provides new methods for solving mental health problems. The personalized digital intelligent sports solution driven by AI is a method that uses AI devices to capture real-time dynamics and conduct big data analysis to evaluate sports training, thereby formulating precise training for the wearer. The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of AI-driven personalized digital intelligence sports programs on adolescent anxiety, and to explore the feasibility of this method as an auxiliary tool for adolescent mental health. Methods The study randomly selected 200 patients with depression among adolescents aged 12 to 18 years old as research subjects. The male to female ratio among the patients was 1:1, and patients with severe physical diseases and exercise contraindications were excluded. 200 patients were randomly divided into two groups, with 100 people in each group, as the experimental group and the control group. When relieving anxiety in the experimental group, 100 patients wore multi-modal wristbands with AI functions to test the patients' heart rate and other data. The multi-modal wristband generated a personalized sports program for the patients based on the data, and the patients performed various sports according to the personalized sports program. The 100 patients in the control group performed exercises according to the conventional physical education teaching plan. A 2-month intervention was carried out for two groups of patients, twice a week, 45 minutes each time. The Screen for Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders (SCARED) scores, State–Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) scores and classroom concentration scores of the two groups of patients before and after the intervention were recorded to evaluate the intervention effect of the AI-driven personalized digital intelligence sports program on adolescent anxiety. Results The test results showed that after 2 months of intervention, the SCARED scores of 100 patients in the trial group were reduced from 32.4 ± 4.1 points to 19.7 ± 3.8 points. The SCARED score of the patients in the control group dropped from 31.8 ± 4.3 to 25.9 ± 4.0, which was also a significant difference (p<.01). And the STAI score of the experimental group decreased by 10.3 ± 2.1 points, which was significantly higher than that of the control group by 4.2 ± 1.3 points (p<.01). The classroom concentration of patients in the experimental group increased by 0.43 ± 0.12, which was significantly better than that of the control group by 0.12 ± 0.06. Discussion Research results show that AI-driven personalized digital and intelligent sports solutions can significantly alleviate adolescents’ anxiety and enhance their psychological resilience, thus improving their mental health. In order to improve the level of mental health services for adolescents, this program can be used in the treatment of adolescent anxiety in the future as an auxiliary treatment to alleviate the anxiety symptoms of adolescents.
