HS-Carbon v1.0: Energy-Aware Extension for Tick-Canonical Phase-Window Actions
HS-Carbon v1.0 is an official extension to the Timeverse protocol family. It adds a carbon gate to the existing phase-coordination stack without modifying the core temporal semantics defined in Timeverse v4.6 and the Phase-Coordination Conventions. The extension introduces:- Energy-aware window fields: energy_wh and carbon_threshold_gco2_per_kwh- The HSᴱ-bit indicator: 1 iff in-window AND carbon intensity below threshold- Integration with TAQA proposal/accept workflow- Deterministic gating semantics with verdicts WAIT and DELAY_CARBON- TSAE receipt fields for carbon auditing- Full backward compatibility with existing Timeverse deployments All field names and semantics are aligned with the Timeverse v4.6 CLEAN / v1.0.1-VISUAL reference implementation, ensuring that implementers can directly map the specification to working code. This document is normative for HS-Carbon gating semantics only. It does not redefine phase/tick conventions, execution semantics, cryptography, or scheduling algorithms. These remain defined by their respective specifications: Conventions, Q-Address, TAQA, Security Profile, HS-Core, HS-Bloch, and HS-bit. The extension is designed to be optional, verifiable, and programmable via HS-Core rules. It transforms carbon from a post-facto reporting metric into a pre-execution condition, enabling truly sustainable distributed coordination.
