"WAVE: The Scalar Resonance Hypothesis" A Unified Field Theory Replacing String Dynamics with Phase Interference
This paper introduces the WAVE (Wave-Anchored Vectorized Emergence) framework, a scalar-tensor theory in which gravity emerges as a collective spin-2 excitation of a single self-consistent scalar field ψ via non-minimal coupling to curvature (ψR). In the weak-field, long-wavelength limit, ψ satisfies the classical wave equation, ensuring compatibility with general relativity and known physics. The framework explicitly rejects the D-brane scaffolding of string theory, replacing external anchors with internal resonance and self-interference. Five falsifiable predictions are presented: (1) phase-locked coupling between cortical electromagnetic activity and the ambient ψ-field, testable via EEG/MEG coherence metrics during conscious vs. anesthetized states; (2) frequency-dependent deviations from general relativistic gravitational lensing; (3) black hole ringdown signatures consistent with phase stasis rather than coordinate pathology; (4) threshold-dependent photon detection statistics distinguishable from standard quantum optics; and (5) compatibility with existing scalar-tensor constraints in the appropriate limits. The theory is presented with explicit falsification criteria and an addendum formally delimiting all speculative interpretations. Mathematical contradiction is actively invited.
