An Industerial Composite Including (1 – x – y)LiZn0.333Ti0.333Co0.333PO4, xLi2MnPO4, yLiZnPO4 as a Suitable Cathode Material for Future Generation of Hybrid Vehicles Batteries: Synthesis and Electrochemical Characterization

The target and objective of this work is based on finding a suitable cathodic material for lithium ion batteries (LIBs) in view point of Cyclability and less resistance and high amperages related to the operate voltages. Several samples of the (1 – x – y)LiZn1/3Ti1/3Co1/3PO4 xLi2MnPO4, and yLiZnPO4 system were synthesized using the sol-gel method. Stoichiometric weights of the LiNO3, Li2MnSiO4, Mn(Ac)2·4H2O, Co(Ac)2·4H2O, Ti(NO3)2·6H2O and LiZnPO4 as lithium materials, iron, Manganese, cobalt, zink and Titanium, in 28 samples of (1 – x – y)LiZn1/3Ti1/3Co1/3PO4, have been used. We exhibited Li1.501Zn0.389Ti0.055Co0.055Mn0.501PO4 as one of the best composition for cathode material in these systems. Obviously, lower weight of cobalt in LiCoO2 as an extensive price and toxic material is advantageous. By using thermal characterization, five samples have been found with the best conditions in viewpoints of capacity, cyclability, nontoxic material, cheaper price and activation energies. Among these samples, the Li1.501Zn0.389Ti0.055 Co0.055Mn0.501 PO4 structure is suggested as a suitable cathodic material from those 28 compositions in future generation of hybrid vehicles batteries.

We exhibited Li1.501Zn0.389Ti0.055Co0.055Mn0.501PO4 as one of the best composition for cathode material in these systems.
