Evolution and propagation of cascading failure in CPPS

Communication networks enhance power system oversight while raising the likelihood of cascading failure risks propagating within the power system and the communication network. This paper constructs a power system model based on power flow and a communication network model based on data flow, establishing the coupling relationship between them. Subsequently, the evolution and propagation processes of cascading failures within a single network and across networks are analyzed. Finally, system robustness is evaluated through three key indicators, and the effectiveness of the proposed coupling relationship in preventing the spread of cascading failures is verified through simulations. The research results provide a theoretical foundation and practical reference for improving the stability and security of the power-communication coupled system.
