Ion‐in‐Conjugation‐Enabled Remineralized Scaffold for Spatiotemporal Control of Infection and Bone Regeneration(Adv. Funct. Mater. 13/2026)
Bone Regeneration In their Research Article (10.1002/adfm.202517239), Zhangqin Yuan, Jinghui He, Bin Li, Song Chen, and co-workers utilize a mineralization strategy and in situ synthesis of ion-conjugated polymers (IIC) to prepare a scaffold, achieving sequential regulation of infection control and bone regeneration. The IIC coating releases antibacterial ions (Zn2+/Ni2+), exhibiting excellent antibacterial properties by inhibiting protein synthesis and DNA replication. Meanwhile, the mineral layer releases Sr2+ that promotes bone regeneration through the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway.
