Introduction to special issue: Indigenous dementia research insights: An interdisciplinary and community-based approach
The Special Issue, “Indigenous Dementia Research Insights: An Interdisciplinary and Community-Based Approach” showcases innovative research being conducted by and with Indigenous communities across the globe to address Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD). The papers included here span AD/ADRD intervention work, tool validation, and epidemiology among Indigenous Peoples globally. While this area of research is still nascent, these articles represent the vast array of research being conducted in this space, and most importantly, model how this research is being conducted with and by communities, not on communities.
