STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT : SUSTAINABILITY AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY, IMPACT AND STRATEGIC IMPLICATIONS

In a world marked by climate change, resource scarcity, and social inequality, sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) have become crucial components of corporate strategy. This paper examines how companies integrate sustainability and social responsibility into their strategic management practices, as well as their impact on competitiveness and long-term performance. Adopting a sustainable strategy provides several advantages: enhanced reputation, innovation, cost reduction, improved resilience, and attractiveness to investors and employees. However, sustainability also presents significant challenges, such as high implementation costs, the risk of greenwashing, difficulties in measuring environmental and social impact, and tensions between short-term profitability and long-term objectives. Through the analysis of companies, this paper demonstrates that sustainability is not only a moral commitment but also a strategic necessity for long-term business success and legitimacy.
