Research Proposal: Cosmological Consequences of a Non-Minimal Higgs-Electromagnetic Coupling - A Call for Computational Collaboration

This document presents a research proposal exploring the cosmological and particle-physics consequences of a non-minimal coupling between the Higgs field and the electromagnetic field tensor, characterised by a dimensionless constant ξ ≈ 0.067. The interaction Lagrangian is gauge-invariant, Lorentz-invariant, and renormalizable. The coupling value is motivated by numerical relationships involving the golden ratio and the transverse dimensions of bosonic string theory. These relationships are presented as motivation, not as a rigorous first-principles derivation. The proposal identifies the specific computational tests required to determine whether this coupling produces observable signatures in the cosmic microwave background and contributes to the resolution of the Hubble tension. The critical test — implementation of the modified Friedmann equations in a Boltzmann solver (CLASS or CAMB) and comparison with Planck 2018 data — has not yet been performed. This proposal is an invitation for collaboration with groups possessing the computational tools and expertise to carry out these tests. This work is part of an ongoing, transparent research programme. Earlier publications in this series (see Related Identifiers) presented preliminary formulations of the framework. This document supersedes those as the most current and carefully scoped statement of the hypothesis, explicitly distinguishing between what has been established and what remains to be computed.
