AN IMPACT OF STUDENT SPENDING HABITS ON LUXURY PRODUCTS IN COIMBATORE CITY

Luxury consumption among students has become a growing phenomenon in Coimbatore, a city known for its educational institutions and modern lifestyle influences. This study investigates the awareness, preferences, and financial behaviour of students toward luxury products, highlighting both aspirational value and financial stress. Using a sample of 150 respondents, the research explores demographic patterns, sources of influence, product preferences, and spending ranges. The findings reveal that while luxury products provide short-term satisfaction and social validation, they also create financial strain. Recommendations include financial literacy programs, awareness campaigns, and responsible consumption practices.
