Determining the Implications on Pregnancy Outcomes of Lower Uterine Segment Contractions as Seen on Second Trimester Perinatal Ultrasound
p = 0.67) and abnormal microarray (30% v 51%, p = 0.09) were similar between groups.Pregnancy loss at any gestational age was noted to be 16% in the NT 3.95 mm group compared with only 6% in the NT < 3.95 group (p = 0.03).Median gestational age at delivery was earlier in the higher NT group (38 v 39 weeks, p= 0.02); however, preterm birth rates were similar (33% vs. 18%, p = 0.13).Other birth outcomes including mode of delivery, birth weight, Apgar scores, NICU admission, and postpartum hemorrhage were similar across groups. Conclusions: In patients where NT 3.95 mm imaged between 11 and 14 weeks, there was a greater incidence of fetal structural anomalies and adverse pregnancy.Continued use of the NT measurement for prediction of fetal anomalies is suggested.Determining the Implications on Pregnancy Outcomes of Lower Uterine Segment Contractions as Seen on Second Trimester Perinatal Ultrasound
