Monitoring Interfacial Dynamics of a Zinc‐Ion Battery Cathode Using In Situ Grazing Incidence X‐Ray Absorption Spectroscopy: A Case Study of Manganese Dioxide (Small Methods 3/2026)
Front Cover In article number 2500871, In, Kheawhom, and co-workers use in-situ grazing incidence X-ray absorption spectroscopy to monitor surface and bulk redox behavior in manganese dioxide cathodes during zinc-ion battery cycling. The study reveals reversible Mn redox in the bulk, but irreversible Mn species build up at the interface, highlighting a key cause of capacity fade.
