Cover Feature: Modeling and Simulation of an Alkaline Ni/Zn Cell (Batteries & Supercaps 2/2026)
The Cover Feature gives a look into a discharging Ni/Zn battery cell—on the right are the nickel particles, where water is split and protons enter the spheres. The remaining hydroxide ions move to the zinc electrode on the left. There, they have to find their way through the ZnO layer surrounding the Zn particles, to then react with zinc to zincate.
