Inside Back Cover: Multidirectional Charge Separation in Self‐Assembled Aggregates of Perylenebisimide‐Porphyrin Bola‐Supra‐Amphiphiles (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 10/2026)
The assembly of a bola-type porphyrin-perylenebisimide (PBI) supra-amphiphile via a shielded hydrogen-bond motif was demonstrated in water. Stabilization of the motif was achieved through the formation of a hydrophobic pocket within the self-assembled spherical superstructures of the entire supra-amphiphile. The aggregates exhibit multi-directional charge-transfer interactions from the porphyrin to the PBI, as well as within the PBI stacks, depending on which chromophore is excited.
