Carpet-3 Array Efficiency Estimates for 10–150 TeV Energy Range
Our paper presents a model of the extensive air shower (EAS) detector array Carpet-3 at the Baksan Neutrino Observatory of the Institute for Nuclear Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences (BNO INR RAS). To study its properties, we generated more than $$10^{5}$$ EAS from different primary particles ( $$\gamma$$ -quanta, protons, helium and iron nuclei). Based on the analysis of the model’s response to the obtained showers, a technique was developed for reconstructing such EAS parameters as the axis position, arrival direction, size and age. This allowed us to estimate the efficiency of the array depending on the energy and primary particle type.
