The genome sequence of the Common Zebra Blue butterfly, Leptotes pirithous (Linnaeus, 1767) (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae)
<ns3:p> We present a genome assembly from a female specimen of <ns3:italic>Leptotes pirithous</ns3:italic> (Common Zebra Blue; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Lycaenidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 261.51 megabases and 218.34 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (99.83%) is scaffolded into 25 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the W, Z <ns3:sub>1</ns3:sub> , and Z <ns3:sub>2</ns3:sub> sex chromosomes. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.41 kilobases. This work is part of Project Psyche, a collaborative programme generating genomes for European butterflies and moths. </ns3:p>
