Cover Feature: Micropatterned Surfaces with Unidirectional Wetting Properties for Liquid Transport (Small Struct. 2/2026)
Micropatterned Surfaces This cover illustrates micropatterned surfaces engineered for unidirectional wetting, where liquid droplets are guided to move preferentially in one direction. Any attempt to travel the wrong way is effectively blocked, and humorously “stopped and fined” by a transport control officer. Through geometric asymmetry and wettability control, these surfaces enable robust, passive liquid transport for microfluidics and thermal management. More information can be found in the Review by Nam-Trung Nguyen, Navid Kashaninejad, and co-workers (10.1002/sstr.202500492).
