Ambitheïsme als derde weg in postAuschwitz-theologie Chayav verdict

This study introduces ambitheism as ethical methodology for post-Auschwitz theology, originating from the historical trial in Auschwitz barracks where God received the chayav verdict (guilty). Classical theodicy models, Pro Deo, In Deo, Trans Deum fail morally by harmonising violence. Ambitheism acknowledges God's structural ambivalence and posits Jesus's philosophy (neighbourly love, non-violence, Golden Rule, victim perspective) as normative criterion above God himself. Biblical analysis (Ezekiel 16, Job, crucifixion) reveals consistent patterns of dependency-creation, instrumentalisation, violent love, and abandonment. Christians during the Holocaust possessed this ethic but failed through collaboration, silence, and theocratic expectations. Ambitheism juridically distinguishes Jesus's philosophy (criterion) from Jesus-person (Trinitarian complicity), systematises Blumenthal's protest-theology, and transforms praxis from theocratic to ceremonial God-conception.

Abstract

This study introduces ambitheism as ethical methodology for post-Auschwitz theology, originating from the historical trial in Auschwitz barracks where God received the chayav verdict (guilty). Classical theodicy models, Pro Deo, In Deo, Trans Deum fail morally by harmonising violence. Ambitheism acknowledges God's structural ambivalence and posits Jesus's philosophy (neighbourly love, non-violence, Golden Rule, victim perspective) as normative criterion above God himself. Biblical analysis (Ezekiel 16, Job, crucifixion) reveals consistent patterns of dependency-creation, instrumentalisation, violent love, and abandonment. Christians during the Holocaust possessed this ethic but failed through collaboration, silence, and theocratic expectations. Ambitheism juridically distinguishes Jesus's philosophy (criterion) from Jesus-person (Trinitarian complicity), systematises Blumenthal's protest-theology, and transforms praxis from theocratic to ceremonial God-conception.
