Passive Building Design Criteria for Composite Climate, Case Study Delhi
Abstract In passive architecture, the architect tries to achieve a human comfort temperature by using natural environmental factors in the architecture and the natural intervention of humans living in the environment. These factors can be seen from the sun, wind, humidity and geothermal energy to a combination of these in the natural environment, which create criteria for the relationship between humans and the environment in architecture. The architect tries to reach his goal by considering these criteria in his design. Criteria such as the right orientation of the building, the right volume, the right amount of external surface, the opening-to-volume ratio, accurate shading, the intelligent use of plants and water, the intelligent use of geothermal energy, etc. This becomes difficult when in a changing climate like Delhi, we want to achieve these goals. In this research, these criteria have been tried to be carefully examined.
