Geochemical Society
To all my fellow geochemists!I am eager to start my term as president of the Geochemical Society and lead you through a series of exciting conferences and new developments.Outgoing President Liz Sikes organised Goldschmidt in Chicago in the summer of 2024, coinciding with the US Democratic National Convention. The meeting went well, the buzz in the city was tangible, and the weather was agreeable. It was an enjoyable meeting to participate in.Past President Sumit Chakraborty guided us through the first hybrid Goldschmidt in Hawaii during COVID-related challenges.I want to thank them both for their leadership, guiding our society with calm, a clear vision, and goodwill. It has been a pleasure working with them.Kevin Johnson is the executive director of the Geochemical Society, overseeing our bylaws and principles while upholding the society's vision: "Explore.Learn.Teach.We seek an active and collaborative international community of geochemists who are capable of exploring, learning, and teaching geochemical applications and theories."
