Technical Report on AI-Driven Chinese Language Learning Tools

Lawrence K. Wang (2025). Technical Report on AI-Driven Chinese Language Learning Tools, "Evolutionary Progress in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM)", 7(9A), Lenox Institute Press, Auburndale, MA, USA. 12 pages. ..... ABSTRACT: This technical report aims to provide an in-depth analysis of five mainstream artificial intelligence (AI)-driven Chinese language learning tools, offering a comprehensive technical reference for educators, language learners, and technology developers. The report provides detailed coverage of SuperChinese, HelloChinese, Skritter, Speechling, and conversational AI represented by ChatGPT and Jenova AI, examining their core technologies, primary functions, target audiences, pricing models, and pedagogical application strategies. Through comparative analysis, this report seeks to elucidate how to integrate these tools to construct an efficient, personalized, and engaging Chinese language learning ecosystem, thereby addressing the challenges of traditional teaching models and providing technical guidance for the development of next-generation Chinese language education. As a former principal of Chinese schools in the United States, the author is acutely aware of advancing age (85+) and the urgency of time. The original intention of writing this report is not only to document the current state of AI technology applications in Chinese language education but also to provide a reliable technical guide and practical foundation for the younger generation of educators. The author sincerely hopes that young educators, technical experts, and language scholars will take up the torch and, building upon the foundation laid by this report, continue to deepen research, innovate courageously, integrate AI technology more deeply with Chinese language education, benefit more learners, and enable Chinese language and culture to shine even more brilliantly in the new era. This is a mission of great significance that requires the wisdom, passion, and perseverance of the new generation to accomplish.
