Description of the Magnetocaloric Effect in an Alternating Magnetic Field in the Metamagnet LaFe13.7Si1.3 within the Framework of the Relaxation Model

The magnetocaloric effect in the itinerant LaFe13.7Si1.3 metamagnet has been investigated experimentally under a static magnetic field of 1–5 T and a low-frequency (0.05–0.5 Hz) sinusoidal magnetic field of 1.8 T. The experimental data have been compared with simulation results based on a relaxation model derived from the Landau functional, which was constructed using the parameters of the metamagnetic transition. A comparison was made between the experimental data and results of the simulations performed within the framework of the relaxation model based on the Landau fanctional.
