From Failed Ruler to Structural Audit
This paper presents the Fact Check Checker (FCC), a domain-independent structural audit framework for evaluating the integrity of verification systems. Rather than assessing the truth or falsity of individual claims, FCC diagnoses whether verification processes retain logical reachability from reported facts to their underlying generative mechanisms and base conditions. Using the “Failed Ruler” case in relativistic mechanics—where proper time is treated as a generative cause rather than a descriptive trace—as an extreme case study, we demonstrate how invariant labels can illegitimately acquire generative authority through a process termed Label-Swap. This substitution leads to Structural Sealing, a failure mode in which verification collapses into a self-contained loop.
