Additional Scenes
Additional Scenes is an experimental film that questions the very medium of cinema. It is an ongoing reflection on exhaustion–both from the reality of mobilisation and from narrative repetition. It subverts conventions and raises profound questions about the essence of being. In cinema, an ‘additional scene’ usually refers to footage not included in the final cut–extra material left on the editing room floor. But here, the term suggests something deeper: the impossibility of rewinding or redoing life. In reality, there are no additional scenes. We live only one version–a final draft. We often think there will be time for revisions, but there isn’t. Life is a clean copy. And there is no way to play Additional Scenes . Directed and filmed by Yarema Malashchuk & Roman Khimei. On APRIA we present an abstract from the full film.
