Design and Radiation Qualification of a New User Interface for the LHC Beam Interlock System

The new BIS User Interface (CIBU) and its power supply (CIBD) were qualified in radiation. Components were first tested with a mono-energetic focused proton beam, followed by a full system-level validation at the CHARM facility. The results confirmed the electronics reliability and readiness for operation in a HL-LHC environment.

Abstract

The new BIS User Interface (CIBU) and its power supply (CIBD) were qualified in radiation. Components were first tested with a mono-energetic focused proton beam, followed by a full system-level validation at the CHARM facility. The results confirmed the electronics reliability and readiness for operation in a HL-LHC environment.
