Juxtarenal aortic occlusion in the presence of a right-sided retro-psoas iliac artery: a case report and surgical insight
This case describes a rare retro-psoas iliac artery complicated by a juxtarenal occlusion of the abdominal aorta. This was surgically managed with an open aorto-bifemoral bypass guided by detailed preoperative imaging. It underscores the importance of identifying atypical vascular variants in operative planning. After carrying out a meticulous literature review, we conclude that this is the 1st reported case from Syria, and the 10th documented worldwide.
