Modelling the potential alternative pathways for the transition to clean cooking for the Residential sector in Ethiopia
This work presents a study on the residential cooking sector energy transition using the OSeMOSYS model. It assesses scenarios where conventional biomass and LPG stoves are gradually replaced by electric cooking technologies, considering improvements in electricity access, grid reliability, and end-use efficiency. The analysis includes technology production, capacity expansion, and residual capacity projections to 2050, providing insights for policy and planning toward full electrification of residential cooking in Ethiopia.
