AcademIQ: harnessing prompt engineering and generative AI for enhanced educational experiences

The world of education has evolved right from vedic gurukul system to the modern day fast paced learning. As the number of students increases the need for personal touch is ever growing. Empowering learners through technology is the need of the hour, our research focuses on the development of a robust artificial intelligence (AI) driven tutoring system ‘AcademIQ’. The system lays its foundations on LLMs and prompt-engineering which provides a signature style to each learner's preferences. It has a modular structure, supports multimedia interactions, real-time doubt solving section, and self-assessment feature. The research dives deep right from considering different Generative AI models up to tweaking the prompts and parameters to fine tune the model. This system can not only be beneficial for the learners but can be integrated in the modern education system to assist the educators as well. Since the technology is still in its nascent stages and the amount of time required to ingest such a humongous amount of data takes time, this is only a preview of what is to come. Thus, we can further build an ecosystem of AI integrated learning to foster the demand of quality education at one’s fingertips.
