Forecasting and scheduling of railway rake
Coal transportation through railway rakes is essential to industry supply chains, but inefficient loading and unloading processes can lead to severe delays and expensive demurrage. By introducing a system to forecast and schedule railway rakes at coal terminals, this project seeks to eradicate such inefficiencies. The system will forecast key variables like rake arrival times, coal stocks, and site handling capacity from real-time inputs, predictive data, and sophisticated algorithms. Proactive decisions to avoid delays will be enabled. Real-time rake assignment will be optimized by a dynamic scheduling framework based on site constraints, dispatch priority, and rake type. This ensures better operations and less idle time. Next.js will be utilized in the system development to offer a scalable, efficient, and responsive web-based interface to handle forecasting and scheduling. Decreased rake turnaround time, increased throughput capacity, and a significant reduction in demurrage cost are the anticipated outcomes. This project promotes cost savings and more sustainable logistics management in the coal industry eradicating such inefficiencies.
