Speculative Model of Coupled Mirror Universes: A Conceptual Framework
This work presents a speculative cosmological model in which the cosmos is part of a global system composed of two mirror universes (A and B), symmetric and non-locally coupled. The system dynamics are described through alternating phases of expansion and contraction, with an effective transfer of global conditions (rather than local forces) between both universes. The observed accelerated expansion is interpreted as an emergent geometric effect of this global coupling, compatible with an effective cosmological constant . The model incorporates considerations on entropy, the arrow of time, and temporal symmetry, and employs physical analogies (membranes, bubbles, crossed springs, coupled pistons) as intuitive support. This record also includes the original Spanish version of the manuscript and AI-generated text to speech audios from PDFs (from v4 ahead). Several appendices in this work are intentionally incremental, documenting the progressive development of ideas and conceptual refinements across successive versions. Version 5 — Conceptual Extensions at the Quantum–Cosmological Interface Version 5 extends the speculative framework through a set of incremental conceptual appendices that further explore the interface between macroscopic cosmological expansion and microscopic (quantum-scale) structure. This version develops intuitive analogies (woven fabric, granular adjustment, structural tension) to examine how smooth large-scale geometric expansion may coexist with the apparent invariance of Planck-scale quantities, without invoking discrete space-time or modifications to established physical theories. In this context, the notion of structural tension is emphasized rather than classical friction. However, the model suggests that the resolution of this tension may occur in a granular or fractionated manner at microscopic scales, analogous to how macroscopic friction emerges from surface irregularities while remaining smooth at larger scales. This allows for continuous cosmological evolution alongside constrained, locally incremental reorganization of degrees of freedom. Additional appendices explore the jointly emergent and correlated nature of time, entropy, temperature, and the arrow of time, interpreting them as consequences of a finite, non-instantaneous reconfiguration of accessible states within a dynamically evolving geometric background. No changes have been made to the core structure or conclusions of the model. The additions remain explicitly interpretative and speculative, intended to clarify intuitions, extend the conceptual framework, and document the ongoing development of the work. The conceptual extensions introduced in Version 5 also allow for a reinterpretation of extreme cosmological scenarios such as the Big Rip. Within the speculative framework developed here, such an outcome is not treated as the inevitable consequence of a divergent dark-energy–like component, but as a potential manifestation of increasing structural tension between macroscopic geometric expansion and the finite capacity of microscopic degrees of freedom to reorganize. In this view, a “rip” would not necessarily correspond to the tearing of matter itself, but to a breakdown of geometric coherence under extreme expansion, where the smooth large-scale evolution can no longer be consistently accommodated by the underlying structural constraints. This perspective naturally connects with a broader interpretative possibility suggested by the model: that the observable universe may be effectively described as a single, emergent degree of freedom within a larger or higher-dimensional dynamical system. This idea is not developed as a formal claim, but remains consistent with the non-fundamental, emergent treatment of expansion, time, entropy, and geometry explored throughout the incremental appendices. Further examination of this possibility is intentionally deferred to future versions, preserving the exploratory and open-ended character of the framework. Version 4 This version adds a new conceptual appendix addressing: Singularities (Big Bang–like events and black holes) as operational limits of space, time, and ordering. The notion of reset of degrees of freedom at singular limits. Clarification of why time-reversal symmetry does not imply reconstruction of past states. Additional dimensional and geometric analogies to improve conceptual clarity. The description also briefly notes speculative intuitions regarding black holes as potential sites of enhanced geometric coupling, acting as geometric anchors and their possible conceptual relation to entropy and Hawking radiation, without incorporating these ideas into the core framework. No changes are made to the core structure, assumptions, or conclusions of the model. Added AI-generated text to speech audios from PDFs Version 3 This version extends the conceptual framework presented in v2 through the addition of two appendices, without modifying the main body of the manuscript. A new appendix, “Conceptual Exploration and Human–AI Assisted Reasoning”, has been added to document the reflective process underlying the construction of the model, clarify its epistemic limits, and explicitly describe the role of human–AI interaction as a tool for conceptual refinement rather than theory generation. A second appendix, “Curvature and Higher-Dimensional Visualization”, introduces an extended geometric interpretation of the coupled mirror-universe system. This addendum elaborates on the notion of effective, state-dependent curvature, proposes a conceptual visualization of complementary open and closed geometries, and clarifies the interpretation of Big Bang–like events as antisymmetric geometric transitions (geometric expansion and contraction) rather than purely material processes. No changes have been made to the core assumptions, qualitative dynamics, or observational compatibility discussed in previous versions. Version 2This update introduces conceptual clarifications regarding(i) the indirect geometric mediation of gravitational dynamics between mirror universes, and(ii) global temporal desynchronization between expansion and contraction phases. No changes to the core framework or conclusions are introduced.
