Oberflächenmodifikation von Lithium-Batterie-Anoden mit multifunktionalen Block-Copolymeren

Rechargeable lithium metal batteries are considered among the most promising next-generation energy storage systems due to their exceptionally high energy density. However, their practical deployment is severely limited by safety issues and poor cycling stability, which mainly arise from uncontrolled lithium dendrite growth and the instability of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI). Surface modification of lithium metal anodes using amphiphilic block copolymers has emerged as an effective strategy to address these challenges, as the nanoscale and mesoscale structures of such polymers play a decisive role in regulating interfacial behavior and enabling dendrite-free lithium deposition. Advanced scattering techniques offer powerful tools to probe the mesoscale structures of pristine block copolymers and polymer-inorganic nanohybrids, providing critical insights into the coating architectures formed on current collectors. Furthermore, in situ scattering studies enable real-time monitoring of structural evolution and lithium dendrite formation, thereby deepening the fundamental understanding of the relationship between interfacial morphology and dendrite growth.
