A topical approach to GLP-1/GIP agonist-induced tissue changes in the face, neck and décolletage: a case series evaluation

As GLP-1 receptor agonists and combination GLP-1/GIP therapies become more common in the management of obesity and type 2 diabetes, a new set of challenges is emerging in aesthetic practice. While these medications deliver impressive results for weight loss and overall health, many patients are starting to notice changes in their skin, including a loss of facial volume, thinning of the dermis, and a weakened skin barrier. This case series evaluates a novel topical formulation, VOL.U.LIFT, specifically designed to address GLP-1/ GIP-induced tissue changes. Four participants on GLP-1/GIP therapy were assessed over four weeks using standardised photography and subjective measurements, including patient-rated skin firmness, elasticity, volume, hydration, and smoothness. Preliminary results demonstrate improvements across all measured parameters, with an average increase of 2–3 points on a 10-point satisfaction scale by week four. The findings suggest that targeted topical approaches using regenerative ingredients may offer a valuable adjunctive strategy for aesthetic professionals managing this emerging patient population.
