Neuroprotective effects of pretreatment with fucoidan and ruthenium red in rats exposed to ischemic stroke injury

Pretreatment with fucoidan and ruthenium red effectively reduced the incidence of neural complications associated with ischemic stroke. Synergistic neuroprotective effects were observed when the two drugs were used simultaneously.
