Corrigendum to: “A life-threatening acute immune-related myasthenia gravis and myocarditis during adjuvant therapy responding promptly to Abatacept” [EJC Skin Cancer 3 (2025) 100734]
The authors regret the omission of the abstract: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have significantly improved the survival outcome in melanoma.Despite their proven efficacy, ICIs can cause a range of toxicities known as immune-related adverse events (irAEs).The concurrent emergence of multiple toxicities can lead to lifethreatening and clinically challenging scenarios. Here we present the case of a 76-year-old man who developed life-threatening myasthenia gravis, myositis, and myocarditis after the first cycle of adjuvant Pembrolizumab in a patient with stage IIIC melanoma. We describe the successful management with Abatacept, a CTLA-4 agonist used in rheumatoid arthritis-highlighting its potential activity as a therapeutic strategy for overlapping irAEs syndromes. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
